Behind the Lens: Terp Thon Recruitment Recap

And just like that, Recruitment Week is over! From meeting new faces at tabling to making memories at our favorite events, this recruitment week was filled with laughter, new friendships, and so many reasons to get excited for this upcoming year of Terp Thon!

Over the past few weeks, we’ve welcomed new Terps into our community, shared what makes Terp Thon so special, and celebrated the mission that brings us all together: supporting kids and families impacted by pediatric illness. Every event, conversation, and new connection helped make this recruitment season one to remember! So, let’s rewind and look at the moments we captured along the way!

🧠Trivia Night: Putting our Knowledge to the Test

We kicked off Recruitment Week with Trivia Night, where we brought everyone together for a friendly competition! It was a chance to show off our trivia skills (on both Terp Thon and Pop Culture), get to know new faces, and share plenty of laughs along the way. Whether we came for the competition or the community, Trivia Night was a reminder that Terp Thon is about so much more than fundraising. It’s about building connections and having fun while making a difference.

🍨Get the Scoop on Terp Thon

Recruitment Week continued by giving everyone the scoop on what Terp Thon is all about. We served our own “Terps for Kids” Maryland Dairy flavor while teaching others about our organization and sharing the excitement surrounding the year ahead. From sweet treats to sweeter conversations, this event gave potential new members a taste of Terp Thon and all the memories waiting to be made.

💃Mini Dance Marathon: A Look into our 8-Hour Dance Marathon

What’s Terp Thon without a little dancing? This night we hosted a mini Dance Marathon to show what to expect at our 8-Hour Dance Marathon in the spring! We had games, fundraising, and of course, dancing! Through music, movement, and community, it was a fun filled reminder of the impact we can make when we come together for a cause bigger than ourselves.

🤝First MemDev: Building our Terp Thon Community

Our first Membership Development meeting marked another exciting milestone. New members were welcomed with open arms and we began building the connections and friendships that will carry us throughout the year! MemDev gave us a chance to grow as a community and get even more excited for everything we have planned.

🐢First AHOD: All Hands on Deck!

We finished up Recruitment Week with our first All Hands on Deck meeting of the year! Bringing the Terp Thon community together, AHOD was an opportunity to connect with members, get involved, and start building momentum for the year ahead. With so many passionate Terps working toward one mission, it is so exciting to see our community together again and kick things into gear.

📸And That’s a Wrap!

As we close the album on recruitment season, we’re so grateful for everyone who came out, got involved, and helped make these moments possible. From trivia to dancing to meaningful conversations and new friendships, every event played a part in growing our Terp Thon family.

To everyone who joined us this recruitment season: welcome to Terp Thon! We’re so excited to have you here and can’t wait to see all the memories we’ll make together. And to our returning members, thank you for continuing to show up, share your passion, and make Terp Thon such a welcoming community.

Recruitment may be over, but this is just the beginning! Here’s to a year of Picturing More Moments! Terps for Kids, always🧡
