TERP THON 2023
Terp Thon is a student-run organization at the University of Maryland that supports patients and families fighting pediatric illness and injury in our local community. As leaders of the Miracle Network Dance Marathon movement, we unite our campus and local community to inspire hope and healing in the children and families at Children’s National Hospital. While raising vital funds and awareness for the hospital, Terp Thon fosters innovation, determination, and creativity in today’s leaders. We celebrate our year-round efforts with a 12-hour Dance Marathon each March, bringing joy to the families who are the root of our cause. Now is the time to register for Terp Thon which is on March 11, 2023 from 12pm - 12 am in the Armory!

What is Terp Thon?
This year, Dance Marathon will be held on Saturday, March 11th from 12 pm-12 am in the Reckord Armory. At Dance Marathon, you will have the opportunity to participate in so many fun activities, games, dancing, traditions, and so much more! For the first time since 2020, Miracle Kids (former patients at Children's National) will be in attendance!

Who are the Miracle Kids?
Miracle Kids are our All-Stars! They embody all that Terp Thon is and what we are working so hard for! These individuals have been treated or are still currently receiving treatment at Children’s National Hospital, the amazing hospital we support! They are the ultimate reminder of our cause and they are super fun people to interact with at Dance Marathon too! Trust me, they are always down to have some fun and take pictures!

How do I register?
Registration is FREE for Terp Thon and you can register on our Donor Drive platform by clicking here! All are welcome. No registration is required to attend any other event besides Terp Thon itself.

What is Color Wars?
Color Wars is the 3-week final stretch leading up to Dance Marathon and the ALL-OUT competition between our Color Teams! Everyone who registers for Terp Thon will be randomly designated one of six colors: pink, orange, yellow, green, blue, or purple. There will be opportunities throughout the three-week push to earn points for your Color Team, pulling you close to the highly coveted Spirit Stick! Color Wars consists of three weeks, Kickoff Week (2/19-2/25), Week of Why (2/26-3/4), and Hype Week (3/5-3/11)!

Can I bring my friends?
YES! In fact, you can create a team with your friends! Follow the same link as provided above and instead of registering as an individual, one person will register as the Team Captain which will allow others to join the team. Don’t worry, the Team Captain role is not a strenuous responsibility, just a point person for all communication! Each year we have teams ranging from friend groups to Greek chapters to student orgs so we definitely encourage you to register with your friends!

What is Greeks Give Hope?
If you are involved or becoming involved in a Greek chapter, whether that be social, professional, or service related, we encourage you to sign up for Terp Thon to celebrate Greeks Give Hope! This is an annual tradition that highlights our Greek Teams commitment to our cause!
