My journey with Children’s National began during my sophomore year during which I was a Patient Care Volunteer on the floor 6 East.

Because of Children’s, I was able to slowly ease back into exercising as my symptoms subsided.

Ryan wakes up every morning at 6am to start his daily routine of breathing treatments, nebulizer medication, and chest percussion therapy.

Sisters share a lot of things: toys, clothes, and for some, even bone marrow.

We are truly humbled by Sammy’s ability to heal and amazed by the talent and level of excellence of care that we received!

Following a successful surgery, Micheal is back doing what he loves – acting, playing chess, and playing sports!

Trevor is now 9 years old and is an active and exuberant child and loves running around and keeping up with his older brother!

He’s just a rare person. He always has a smile on his face. He’s always happy, always telling a joke. He’s very unaffected by it.

Today, Luca is a happy nine year old who enjoys listening to music and playing with her dog Tessa.

In 2008, George W. Bush honored Ryan by naming him a member of the “President’s Committee on People with Intellectual Disabilities.”

In 2011, Alexander and his twin sister Tess were named DC’s Children’s Miracle Network Champions!

Chase spent over 2 months in the summer of 2018 getting a new esophagus, he is now able to eat and swallow!

The first time Tara shared her story at Terp Thon, the room was filled with echoes of the audience chanting her name in solidarity and awe.

Fionn is an honorary member of the Maryland Men’s Lacrosse Team, and he loves the team so much!

Olivia loves to share her Beads of Courage, a long necklace made of individual beads, each representing her bravery and strength.

Samerya is a ten year old with big dreams: she aspires to be a nurse when she is grown up so that she can take care of people!
